I am a soldier far from my home
I am away in a land that is not my own
I am away from all that is familiar to my heart
Yet I serve...
I serve not in war as other soldiers do.
I serve for the purpose of peace
I serve knowing that one day I may
return to my country, the place that my heart is bound to
I serve having the knowledge that
I am serving in peace in this land
So strange to my heart
I serve in hopes that when I have left this land that
I will leave it a better place to be
For I have done my time and done my part as
A Blue Beret
A Soldier of peace...
